How passionate are you about our cause?
This disease is so shitty and has touched just about everyone in my life. My father was taken by Cancer way too early from my family. I would like nothing more than to raise enough awareness and money to finally make some progress on eradicating this disease.
As you think about the three primary board roles—ambassador, advocate, and asker—in which role(s) do you think you will want to be most active?
I think a successful board member must touch on all three roles. Our existing board has the skill set in these areas but the one that we must concentrate on is being the “asker.” This is a wonderful cause and asking for support is the first step to helping this tournament grow from year to year.
How do you define success for the KFM Cancer Classic?
I would like to see a consistent year over year growth not only in the total money raised but in the overall reach of the tournament as well. When people attend the KFM Cancer Classic they know that they are supporting a great cause but they also know they are going to have a fun time at the event and the after party as well. This event is surrounded by tremendous people and if we can continue to lean on each of them this event will continue to be a success.
What would you say is your favorite memory of the last nine KFM Cancer Classics?
I took home the Rudy Flyer award in a playoff by sinking a hole in one putt on the 18th green. The crowd went crazy and I won a nice Dayton Flyer Hoodie sweatshirt.
