Scott Lutz / Old Orchard Lanes and Links

Name: Scott Lutz/Old Orchard Lanes and Links

Induction Year: 2025

Category: Career Achievement in Support

Bio: Scott has owned the Old Orchard Lanes and Links since 1992.  His father worked at the bowling alley for 43 years, Scott has now worked there for 47.  They added the miniature golf course in 2003.  Since the KFM Cancer Classic first approached him to host the Classic in 2014, Scott and his all-star staff have served as the most cooperative and supportive amongst all venues.  Each year, the course and bathrooms are thoroughly prepared and cleaned, the event adequately staffed, alcohol stocked, and banners hung.  His crew goes through great pains to insert 30+ signs annually in advance of the event (by inserting stakes into limited ground space that is mostly covered in rock).  His staff, led by Rich Kelly, supplies free water/popcorn for attendees, warmers for food, has taken pictures, and has always been easy to work with.  Old Orchard has hosted more KFM's than any other venue (11).

Personal: Scott and his wife Rhonda have 4 children (Jordan, Nicholas, Lucas, Hallie) and currently have 6 grandchildren.  In the rare free time Scott has, he enjoys fishing and listening to Cubs games.

Scott’s thoughts on Hall of Fame induction: I’m incredibly thankful for Kevin for starting and running such a great event every year. As well as choosing our mini golf course to host this wonderful fundraiser. I’m not exactly sure why I am worthy of being inducted because all I ever did was drank, ate the bacon wrapped dates with Richie, and laughed at some of the great costumes over the years.  We are forever grateful for having the opportunity to be part of this event as Cancer has also touched our family as well as many others. Old Orchard is involved in many fundraisers throughout the year(s), but this one always amazed me with the way it’s ran and the support from all of the people involved and the sponsors. With that being said I’d like everyone to make sure that this final KFM Cancer classic is the best one. Cheers!
